FAQ

Using the Assignment feature, one has the ability to transfer their extension to any phone across different offices, locations, home office, and certain types of softphones. Note that phone assignment requires that the phone being assigned is the same model as your own.

To assign your number and profile to a phone that already has another extension:

  1. From the phone to be assigned, Dial the Internal Access Digit of your organization (usually 5), followed by 88.
  2. Enter your complete telephone number +#. If your phone is configured as an extension-only (i.e., non-DID) line, enter your company’s complete main telephone number + * + your extension number + #.
  3. Enter your phone password followed by the # key. The phone will now reset and display the assigned extension/profile.

To reassign your own number and profile back to your own phone:

  1. Pick up the handset of your phone
  2. After the voice prompt, enter your complete telephone number followed by the # key (in the same manner as above).
  3. After the voice prompt, enter your phone password followed by the # key

To un-assign your number from a phone to which you have previously assigned your extension to (i.e. make it go back to '????' state):

  1. From the phone to be un-assigned, Dial the Internal Access Digit of your organization (usually 5), followed by 89.
  2. Enter your complete telephone number +#. If your phone is configured as an extension-only (i.e., non-DID) line, enter your company’s complete main telephone number + * + your extension number + #.
  3. Enter your phone password followed by the # key. The phone will now reset and display '????'.

Super User Assignment

Administrators have the option of using a ‘Super Password’ specific to their organization/partition that can be used to assign or re-assign any phone/extension within their organization. The procedure is the same as above with slight variation. To assign a number and profile to a phone that already has another extension:

  1. From the phone to be assigned, Dial the Internal Access Digit of your organization (usually 5), followed by 87.
  2. Enter the complete telephone number +#. If the phone is configured as an extension-only (i.e., non-DID) line, enter the company’s complete main telephone number + * + the extension number + #.
  3. Enter the Super User password followed by the # key. The phone will now reset and display the assigned extension/profile.

To reassign the own number and profile back to the own phone:

  1. Pick up the handset of the phone
  2. After the voice prompt, enter the complete telephone number followed by the # key (in the same manner as above).
  3. After the voice prompt, enter the phone password followed by the # key.
